Springtime Eye of the Day

Hello and Welcome to Saving Face Beauty!

I'm aware that it's been Spring for almost a month but I live in the Seattle area and It hasn't really felt like spring until this week, at least it is for me because I finally reached that place where I can't put off shaving my legs any longer.

I may or may not have come across a sale on sundresses and was forced to take some drastic actions. But before I went out to take advantage of said sundress sale, I took the opportunity to throw on a brighter eye look.

The basis for this look comes form the Laura Mercier Artist palette.

After priming with Urban Decay's Primer Potion and MAC's Paint Pot in Layin' Low, I used a mixture of Fresco and Truffle to create a transition shade and I packed the shade African Violet onto the lid focusing on the inner half. I used Kir Royal and Violet Ink to define the outer corners. I topped off the base look by using Guava to define the brow bone.

You're definitely free to stop here and you'll be left with a soft purple eye, but for some reason I was inspired to add NYX's blush in StrictlyChic, which is a bright coral shade, into the crease. This combination literally came to me in the dream, and I like the way it turned out.

That concludes this Eye of the Day, but if you've ever wondered what Spring looks like in Washington (when it's not raining or overcast), this is it:

Here, you'll see some random hipster harassing the local wildlife.

If you try out this look or something like it be sure to tag me on Instagram or Twitter so I can see it, otherwise leave a comment with your favorite Spring Time eye combos.
