Hello and Welcome to Saving Face Beauty!
A Wise man once told me that wearing red lipstick made me look like a hoochie. He continued by insisting that it "wasn't necessarily a bad thing."
I don't think he was trying to be rude, I just think he's the kind of guy who really likes hoochies. Ya know? I was still butt hurt though...for a number of months.
Now that it's officially spring, it's time to embrace bright color! But before I can move on to the hot pinks, the corals, and even the lavenders, I have to feel good about wearing red again. Ya know?
I came across Urban Decay's Matte Revolution Lipstick in Bad Blood a few weeks ago at Ulta and I knew instantly that I couldn't leave without it. Bad Blood is a deep blue-based red and retails for $22 at Sephora.com and Ulta.com
The formula is so rich and creamy (though it doesn't show up super matte), pigmented like you wouldn't believe! Not to mention the heavy, luxurious-feeling packaging.
Urban Decay also makes a corresponding 24/7 Glide on lip pencil in Bad Blood as well, which I decided to pass on because it retails for $20! #ayecarumba!
Instead I paired this classic red with Rimmel's Red Diva retractable lip liner which only retails from $5-$7 depending on where you shop.
And there you have it!
What are your favorite bright Lip picks for Spring? I'd love to read about them in the comments!
