Ulta Haul: NYX, Revlon, Makeup Revolution

Hello and Welcome to Saving Face Beauty!

I got to leave work early today and decided to hit up Ulta on my way home because, what else do I have to do?

First and Foremost I bought, yet another bottle of the Revlon Colorstay liquid foundation. This is my favorite foundation ever! I included it in my March Favorites but thought it best to pick up a lighter shade for purposes of mixing. (Foundation $12.99)

A couple of products from NYX also ended up in my bag.

I was reading a post by Brooke Elise a few months ago where she was raving about the Smashbox Photofinish Primer Water Spray. I've been wanting to give it a try but so far I haven't been able to justify the $32 price tag for a bottle of water. Ya now?

NYX's First Base fuels my curiosity when it comes to primer sprays. At least for the moment. I've only tried it once so far and wasn't very impressed to be honest. However I didn't prep my skin properly so the jury is still officially out. It'll be a while before I can give a proper review on it but I promise it will come. (Spray $7.99 )

Besides the Primer Spray I was gravitating towards the NYX Ombre Blushes. All of the ombre blushes from NYX are soft and creamy to the touch as well as being stunning to look at. It took a lot of self control to keep myself from buying all of them (but it'll happen eventually).  I settled on Mauve Me because it seemed like a beautiful neutral option that I know I would get a lot of use out of as well as Strictly Chic which I would describe as a sorbet or peachy-orange color. This second shade is the physical representation of Spring in a blush and I can honestly say I don’t have anything like it in my collection. (Blushes $9.99)

My next find is from Makeup Revolution, which finally made an appearance at my local Ulta. Today I picked up the Vivid Baked Bronzer in Golden Days. For me it's definitely too light to be a bronzer but I thought I could use it as a soft, ultra natural looking highlighter. (Bronzer $6)

Saving the best for last, the whole purpose for this particular trip was to purchase the Urban Decay Afterglow 8-hr. Highlighter in Sin! I planned on picking this up at Sephora but they were completely wiped out (Damn you V.I.B. Rouge!) but after I swatched it there was no going back. It's the perfect champagne gold shade. It's beautifully pigmented and creamy, but once you blend it into the skin it gives you the most beautiful "lit from within" glow. These Afterglow highlighters come in three shades: Sin, Fireball and Aura. . If you're very fair in complexion I'd recommend Aura as opposed to Sin, even though Sin is a pretty universal shade.

That concludes my super small Ulta Haul! If you've tried any of these products I'd love to know what you think!
