Glitterally! - EOTD

Hello and Welcome to Saving Face Beauty!

I've been wanting to do a post like this ever since I stumbled onto the new Glitters and Glitter Primer from NYX. I didn't even have an occasion, besides the fact that I was feelin' a little sparkly.

Why yes. That is glitter in my nose.

The look

First I applied the NYX Glitter primer as an eyeshadow primer since it's actually incredibly tacky. I layered MAC's Paint pot in Layin' Low over the primer for an even base.

After priming, I applied scotch tape to the eyes. When removed it creates an insta-wing sharp enough to cut up 17 b*tches in a row. I used the following shades from the Violet Voss Holy Grail Palette to create the base eye look, which can definitely be worn on its own, along with some subtle cut crease action.

The next step is to go back in with the NYX Glitter Primer and tap it (semi-generously) with a spare finger. You'll want to apply the glitter right away because the primer sets pretty quickly. That being said, when applying the glitter you might want to do one eye at a time.

I actually used two glitters in this look. The first was a lighter gold glitter that came in the Too Faced Stardust kit (but any light gold will do, possibly a Makeup Geek Sparkler) for the inner third of the eye, and applied the NYX Face and Body Glitter in the shade Bronze to the inner third of my eye.

After applying the glitter, eyeliner and mascara I removed the tape. If you don't have an insta-wing that's hella sharp right now, I don't know what to tell you besides you did it wrong.

I finished up my face with these products:

Milani Foundation and Concealer

NYX Gotcha Covered Concealer and L.A. Girl Pro Conceal

NYX Banana Powder

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Dollface

Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick in Bad Blood

Highlighter in Gilded Honey from Laura Geller Beauty
All brushes used in the creation fo this look are from the Shany Enterprises Inc. 10-Piece Brush Set. (Review to Come)

This is actually my second attempt at a "Glitterally" eye look. Here's my first attempt:

I didn't even take a real picture. I only took a snapchat picture!

Here's why I didn't like the way it turned out the first time around:

I made a legitimate attempt at doing a halo eye, which I'm not very good at, in combination with glitter which I'm also not very good at! Things definitely could have been worse, but I knew I could do better, ya know?

Speaking of Snapchat my user name is Yumm_3434. Find me, follow me and watch me do whatever comes into my mind at any given time.

And that's it for today's Eye of the Day! Stay tuned for more on the Violet Voss Holy Grail palette. More EOTDs as well as a review are in the works. Were you lucky enough to snag the Holy Grail Palette before it sold out? How are you liking it?
