Manicure Monday : Dry Brush Method

Hello and Welcome to Saving Face Beauty!

I bring you another Manicure Monday where I'm actually doing some kind of nail art. For someone who's not (nail) artistically inclined, I'm on it!

My inspiration for this manicure came from Nicole of Young Wild and Polished who made a video devoted to this method which basically involves stripping the brush from as much polish as possible and using whatever's left on the brush to make in consistent streaks on the nail.

I combined the Dry-Brush technique with my own desire to use Essie's polish in 'Smokin' Hot' one last time before Spring is officially upon us. I threw in 'Rue' by Zoya, a lighter complementary, as well as 'It Starts with Me' from Nicole by OPI for that shimmerycomponent.

Or an overall dark manicure with Essie's 'Smokin' Hot' as the main color with Zoya's 'Rue' as one of the accent nails as depicted on my right hand.

So I did both and really enjoyed the way it turned out!

On both hands I used two coats of 'It Starts with Me' from Nicole by OPI as an accent color on my ring finger.  I didn't use a base coat because I have on acrylics and, as always, I used Seche Vite as my top coat.

I don't think this manicure ended up being quite as bad as I though it was going to be,  given my lack of artistic ability.

Are you excited for Spring? I'd love to know which bright colors you're looking forward to wearing!
