Hello and Welcome to Saving Face Beauty!
This is an overview of the products I bought, with the money I earned, doing things I don't like, for people who don't appreciate it.
I was having one of those days where I walked into a store for one or two things, and I walk out with a sh*t ton. Mostly because I was staying overnight with a friend and the Ulta in her neck of the woods carries a couple of brands I haven't seen in person in my Ulta.
I originally went to look at skin care and polish so I grabbed a few facial masks.
I picked up a pore minimizing mask and an anti aging mask from Leaders Insolution, and a 7 wonders Moisturizing mask by the same brand. Between the increasingly dryweather, my already dry skin, and all that paint on my face for an entire month I need hydration and exfoliation beyond anything else, so I'm excited to try these masks out.
However, I really got excited when I saw the Makeup Revolution display! Palette after palette on sale for a more than reasonable price. What a dream. The only difficulty in making a decision is that there are no testers on display, and all the palettes are tightly packaged so the only indication of what you're getting inside is a less than optimal picture on the back.
I settled on three face palettes.
The Ultra Blush palette in Hot Spice.
The Ultra Bronze palette in All About Bronze.
Just from watching these palettes I can tell you that the blushes and bronzers come off very powdery and the baked products especially are very dry. However, they all seem to swatch true to color. There are two blush palettes available and I picked up the lighter, more neutral version of the two to be on the safe side. I think it'll be okay on days when I'm looking for a natural look on the cheeks but this is something I would recommend more for lighter skin tones if this is something that interests you. Same goes for the bronzers as they are very much on the light side.
If you're looking for a good affordable blush palette four pan blush palettes from E.L.F. It comes in a light and a deep variety and retail for $6 at Target and on eyeslipsface.com.
And The Ultra Cover and Concealer palette in Medium - Dark.
The concealers are very creamy in texture and seem to give off some satisfying pigment. However, they also feel very thin in consistency which makes me wonder how build able they are and how easily they might crease.
I was also looking at the Affirmation eyeshadow palette, but I still have a few new palettes to play with so I decided against it fir the time being.
As I was in line waiting to pay I snagged up this cute lil chap stick from 'Lip Bang.' I don't really know what this is about yet, but we'll see.
That's it for this small hump day haul. If you've tried anything from Makeup Revolution or have any recommendations from the brand I would love to hear about them in the comments.
