Hello and Welcome to Saving Face Beauty!

I don't know about you, but nothing says Spring quite like 15% off at my favorite bougie makeup store. Wouldn't you agree? If you read my Sephora V.I.B. Wishlist from last week you'll know I was thinking about purchasing a lot of things from the sephora website. Luckily, I decided to brave the crowds and go to a store instead or else I would have ordered things that I wouldn't have been happy with.

Makeup Forever Pro Bronze Fusion

The only product from the wishlist that I actually bought is the Makeup forever Pro Bronze Fusion bronzer in the deepest shade 30M. I don't have a lot of bronzers in my collection because I'm not much of a bronzer person and I struggle to find both a formula and a shade that will work well with my skin tone. I was excited to try this because, even though it looks dark in the pan,  it's not so pigmented that I'd have to worry about using it sparingly or looking crazy. I actually put this bronzer all over my face, neck and chest to add warmth to an otherwise yellow complexion. Then I focus more product in the usual contour and bronzing areas and so far, so good.

Kat Von D Shade Light and Shade Light Eye

When it comes to contouring I finally bit the bullet and picked up both of the Shade and Light Palettes from Kat Von D. These palettes are nothing new so I shouldn't have to say how soft, creamy and pigmented the formula is, or about how well designed an surprising sturdy the packaging is, or about how ridiculous the names are because You'll already know! As far as I know KVD is sold exclusively at Sephora and 15% off was all I needed to justify the spend. I can already tell that both of these will make it into a favorites post.

Laura Mercier Eye Artist Palette

To satisfy my craving for a neutral eyeshadow palette with a bit of color for Spring, I went straight to Laura Mercier to grab the Artist Palette. I just love the combination of neutrals and purples for any time of year and looks especially good on brown-eyed-girls.

Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Melted Chihuahua

The one product I did buy from Too Faced is the Melted Lipstick in the most disturbing shade name I've ever seen: Melted Chihuahua. Even though this isa beautiful nudie pink shade that's best for light to tan skin tones, how awkward would it be if some asks you what you're putting on you lips and you have to answer: "Just some melted Chihuahua."

Urban Decay Naked Skin Corrector

I did end up buying three products from Urban Decay, but let's start with the one product that I actually took back. I mentioned in my March Favorites post that I was loving the L.A. Girl Pro concealer in the orange for color correcting the darkness under my eyes but was having trouble concealing the orange with foundation and regular concealer. I picked up the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer in the Peach corrector shade, but the color wasn't deep enough to correct my darkness. It just lightened the under eye area and made it look dry and ashy. I honestly don't think this corrector would work for anyone with a deeper skin tone similar to mine or deeper.

Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick in Bad Blood

That was a bummer, but I exchanged it and picked up the Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick in Bad Blood featured in both my Glitterally post and my Bad Blood LOTD post.

Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighter in Sin

Last but definitely not least, the pièce de résistance of this haul is the Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighter in Sin. I walked into Sephora with this product on the radar, but it wasn't until I actually swatched it and immediately fell head over heels (right after I creamed my panties). This is just the perfect champagne gold shade. It's not too gold, not too pink and not too silver in tone. This is definitely the most versatile of the shades that Urban Decay released in this line of highlighters.  I can see this working for nearly any every skin tone. If you're lighter it'll be a little more subtle and if you're darker it'll be more noticeable. If you're ridiculously fair or have a cool undertone, you might want to try Aura. I don't wanna be one of those people that gets all contraversial, but so far I'm liking Sin better than Champagne Pop. Please don't tell Jaclyn because she's my main youtube b*tch.

That concludes this haul! If you're interested in any of the Afterglow highlighters, give them a swatch, see what you think and tag me on Twitter @savinfacebeauty so I can see it! Otherwise leave a comment with some of the things you bought at the VIB sale or with products that might be on your wishlist.

NYX Highlight and Contour Palette Review

NYX Highlight and Contour Palette Review

I picked up the Highlight and Contour palette from NYX recently, not so much because I was on the hunt for a contour palette, but because I just felt like taking a chance. For the sake of science of course. I've had this palette for a good month, I've used it several times and I've definitely made my mind up as to how I feel about it.

Manicure Monday: Tips and Tricks for Growing Out Your Nails

I've ben wearing acrylics consistently for about a year now. Believe it or not Manicure Mondays are the most popular posts on this blog and I wanted to make sure that I couldconsistently have uniform nails that looked presentable enough to do these posts. I eventually got tired of having them on and I especially got tired of the upkeep. So I just decided to let them all fall off so that I could start over.

This month actually did go by really fast for me. March is my birthday month, something I was simultaneously looking forward to and dreading. I obviously was not looking forward to getting any older (I'm officially in my mid twenties!) but I was looking forward to spoiling myself a little. That being said, I did splurge on a lot a products that I'm excited to feature in upcoming posts!
